Broncos Trade Brandon Lloyd to the Rams
ESPN - The Denver Broncos have traded receiver Brandon Lloyd to the St. Louis Rams.
The Rams gave up a sixth-round pick in the 2012 draft that could
become a fifth-round pick if Lloyd catches 30 passes this season for St.
Louis.
The NFL's trade deadline is Tuesday.
Lloyd will be
reunited with Josh McDaniels, the Rams' offensive coordinator who was
the head coach of the Broncos last season when the receiver led the
league with 1,448 yards receiving, catching 77 passes, 11 of them for
touchdowns.
The 30-year-old Lloyd is in the final year of his deal that pays him about $1.4 million this season.
The Broncos have been busy over the last week naming Tim Tebow the new starting QB, and trading their best wide receiver to the Rams. I figured after they named Tebow the starter they would give him a chance with the players they have surrounding him. They must really not have any faith in him. This pretty much tells me that they are throwing in the towel for the season. Maybe they want the 0-5 Rams to end up with a better record than them so they can grab Andrew Luck in next years draft. Maybe the smartest move they could have made
