John Beck: will start his first game since 2007 on Sunday. The Redskins will meet the Carolina Panthers at 1:00. The Panthers are only 1-5, but have been in close games all season. Don't expect this to be a blowout for the Skins or the Panthers. I won't bother you with Beck stats from 2007, because they are pretty pointless at this point. Beck went 8 for 15 last week and added a fumble in a reserve roll as the Redskins lost to the Eagles.
Prediction: Skins lose a close game, 205 yards, 1 TD
Christian Ponder: Ponder will start his NFL career against the defending champion Packers. The Packers have a very legit defense that will not make Ponder's first game one to remember. Smartest thing for Ponder to do is hand the ball off to Adrian Peterson as much as possible.
Prediction: Packers win by 30, 175 yards, 1 TD, 2 Int
Tim Tebow: Smartest move the Broncos could have made this year. I'm pretty mad they traded away his number one target though. Tebow opens the year against the 0-5 Miami Dolphins. The second-year quarterback won't be leading
the league in passing yards or passing touchdowns anytime soon, but he
will chip in some nice rushing numbers. First start for the 2011
Broncos, first very nice game for those who drafted Tebow or plucked him
off the waiver wire.
Prediction: Broncos win a close game, 190 yards, 1 TD, 1 Int
Tebow will also add a rushing touchdown and 40 yards.
Carson Palmer: This is a weird place to find a long time starter like Palmer. I predict a pretty bad game based on the time he will have to learn the offense, and him being out of football shape. The good news is he starts his season against the Chiefs. The Chiefs have played pretty bad this year and don't have much to offer on defense. Carson will rely heavily on Darren McFadden.
Prediction: Raiders win a close game, 210 yards, 1 TD, 1 int
