Pacquiao's Promoter Bob Arum Says Mayweather Fight Will NEVER Happen

Manny Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum said that the Floyd Mayweather superfight will never happen.  He made this claim Wednesday at a media day workout for Pacquiao’s Nov. 12 fight against Juan Manuel Marquez.

ESPN - "That fight will never, ever happen," Arum said. "Ever, ever happen because of Mayweather."

"When
Mayweather talks about how he hates Top Rank he's talking bulls---.
What Mayweather hates is Manny's right hand. Mayweather has no chin and
Manny will knock him out. Pacquiao and Mayweather is a three or
four-round fight. Period. And who knows that best? Mayweather. The one
thing Mayweather has had throughout his career is he knows boxing. He
understands boxing and Mayweather can not compete with Manny. It's the
right hand of Manny that is preventing that fight from happening. If
Manny agreed just to jab with the right hand the fight would be made in
30 seconds."

"Once Manny demonstrated that fearsome right hand there was no chance
ever that the fight would happen," Arum said. "None. Don't kid yourself.
I know Mayweather, everything else is bulls---."

I think most people could have guessed this after the first 15 times they claimed the fight would happen, only to cancel it the next day.  I agree 100% with Arum's claims.  If Mayweather retires right now he arguably could go down as the best fight ever.  The guy is 42-0.

If Mayweather man's up and fights Pacquiao he will most likely lose.  If he retired at 42-1, he wouldn't even be the best fighter in his era much less the best ever.  Arum is correct when he says Mayweather knows boxing.  He knows he can be a coward and go down in the Hall of Fame as one of the best or take the risk of losing to Pacquiao and ruin his legacy.

The only reason he would take the fight is if he somehow got it into his head that he wasn't looked at as the best.  That he needed to beat Pacquiao to get that crown.  I would gladly give him the crown of the best ever, but only if he defeated Pacquiao.
