Former NHL player Theo Fleury won a Stanley Cup with the Calgary Flames back in 1989. Fleury was part of the Calgary Flames alumni team that played the Montreal Canadiens back in February at McMahon Stadium. Over the alumni weekend Fleury somehow lost his Stanley Cup ring and thought it was gone forever. Apparently not. The ring showed up on the Calgary Craigslist in the lost and found section. Here is what the note said on the ad.
Cagary Flames stanley cup ring (queensland)
This item will only be released to a calgary flames stanley cup winner of 1989.......you know who you are!!
The poster of the message had a Craigslist email address for the
site's users to respond to, something Fleury suggested in a brief text
exchange he was very likely intending to do.
"We're on it," Fleury wrote.
"I lost it at the Heritage Classic. It fell out of my pocket."
Luckily for Fleury the ring didn't show up on the for sale section of the website. I'm sure whoever had the ring could have made a pretty penny on the item.
