Mike Silva of NY Baseball Digest did a recent interview with John Rocker to discuss his new book "Scars and Stripes." Awesome title by the way. Rocker was open in the interview and discussed just about everything from steroids, to the off the field controversies throughout his career. Here is the quote that sticks out the most.
I was surprised by his admission to taking steroids, so I asked him
again if he was taking some sort of PED in 1999. “Yeah, of course I was.
I mean who wasn’t? Let’s be honest here, who wasn’t?”
That's why I'm a huge Rocker fan. Not only because I've always liked the Braves, but because he mans up and admits what he did and what everyone else did. I mean all these idiots that go to trial and think because they lie in court that everyone in the world is going to believe them? Clearly 75% of baseball was doing roids in the 90s. People like McGwire, Bonds, and Sosa need to man up and admit they did steroids. 70 home runs? Are you kidding me? Nobody will ever respect Bonds career record or Big Mac's single season record so why not just come out and admit it?
