Barcelona star David Villa broke his leg in a 4-0 victory over Qatar's Al-Sadd that advanced the
European champions to the Club World Cup final against Brazil's Santos.
Villa was going for the ball in the 37th minute of the match when he landed awkwardly and fell to the ground. He was carried off on stretcher and the team is reporting that he broke his shin bone. These injuries require around 3-6 months of recovery time. Spain is hoping to get the star back before their opening European Championship match on June 10 against Italy. It was rumored that Villa could leave Barcelona, with Liverpool and Chelsea being the two possible destinations. This injury will likely make the two clubs back off of any offers.
