San Diego State proved to be the real deal last year. They finished the season with a 34-3 total record and only lost to BYU (Twice) and the defending National Champs Connecticut. The loss to UConn came in the sweet 16 which is nothing to look down on yourself about. They started this year out well with three strait wins and look to make another run in March Madness. They lost Kawhi Leonard to the NBA draft, but might have found another top notch player in Jamaal Franklin.
Franklin threw down three huge dunks against Southern Utah and looks as athletic as they come. Two of the dunks happen to be off the backboard. One he threw to himself and the other he dunked off a backboard pass from a teammate. Not something you see during a game usually, more like dunk contest dunks. It might have had something to do with Southern Utah only scoring 37 points, but hey a good dunk is a good dunk no matter how you look at it. Oh, and the next day he came out and scored 31 points. Jeremy Lamb might have some competition for player of the year after all. Not bad for someone who only scored 64 points all of last year.
