Justin Verlander is Your AL MVP
Have to give a shout out to the hometown hero Justin Verlander on his AL MVP award. Representing the 804 like a true beast. Verlander became the first pitcher to win the MVP crown since Dennis Eckerlsley in 1992 and the first starter
since Boston's Roger Clemens in 1986. He finished the season with a 24-5 record and a 2.40 ERA. Anyone that can snag over twenty wins these days has to at least be considered for the MVP. Most analysts had him finishing out of the top three simply because he's not an everyday player, but he proved them wrong. 24 wins is a huge accomplishment and well deserving of the MVP award.
Jacob Ellsberry came in second place with a .321 batting average, 32 home runs, and 105 RBIs. Jose Bautista grabbed third with a .302 batting average, 43 home runs, and 103 RBIs.
