Northern Illinois Player Suspended For Tackling Band Member Before Game (Video)
Northern Illinois has suspended their freshman linebacker Jamaal Bass for tackling a band member before their Tuesday night match-up with Toledo.
Washington Post - “After reviewing the tape of last night’s pregame encounter between
our team and the University of Toledo’s marching band, and discussing
the situation with (athletic director) Jeff Compher, we have decided to
suspend Jamaal for our next game,” coach Dave Doeren said. “His actions
were not representative of the Huskies football program. I met with
Jamaal early this morning and he understands that and is extremely
remorseful.
“I want to publicly apologize to the Rocket Marching
Band and to the University of Toledo. We are embarrassed at what
occurred and take full responsibility for the situation. I will do
whatever is necessary to ensure that something like this never happens
again.”
Nothern Illinois beat Toledo 63-60 and Jamaal did not play in that game either. It almost looks as if the band member stepped in his way while running onto the field. Jamaal clearly jumped in the air while getting hype on his way out of the tunnel. The band member just got his nerdy ass in the way and got pummeled. Sorry that your 130 pounds and never been in a weight room before in your life. Man up and eat a meal and someone touching you with their shoulder pad might not knock you out cold
Sorry this video is in super slow motion, make sure you keep your eye on the right side for the hit.
