Here are a couple videos over the last day that show students rallying around Penn State football Coach Joe Paterno. Joe first addressed fans outside his home. The fans and media gathered to get a word from Joe about the ongoing investigation. The students and fans are chanting "we want Joe" over and over again.
The other video is a so called Riot in the downtown area of Penn State. More like a bunch of students walking in the streets together. The students are apparently mad that Joe is being called out as a part of the investigation, and possibly could be fired over not reporting the things that were brought to his attention. ESPN reported this morning that Joe will retire after this year unless he is fired before the year is over.
As much as these students want to get behind Joe, you can't argue that he should have brought this to someones attention earlier. He could have stopped countless victims from being harassed, and that overshadows the good things he has done on the football field. Many people have heroes that they look up to, but the second one of them does something wrong of this caliber they fall off the pedestal.
