Miguel Torres Released From UFC Following Rape Tweet

The former WEC bantamweight champion Miguel Torres has been released from the UFC.  Torres is known for tweeting pretty regularly and sent out this tweet that didn't make Dana White to happy.

"If a rape van was called a surprise van, more women wouldn't mind going
for rides in them," Torres wrote. "Everyone likes surprises."

Dana White followed with this comment.

“Miguel Torres has been cut from the UFC and his career with us now is over,”

Torres has won three of his last four fights and was considered to be at the top of the bantamweight division.  This comes after multiple other UFC fighters have joked about rape in the recent past.  Forrest Griffen took a bunch of heat when he tweeted "rape is the new missionary" a couple weeks back.  Forrest war referring to how many television shows he saw that day that had to do with rape.  Also yesterday we saw this video of Rashad Evans saying to Phil Davis "I'm going to put my hands on you worse than that dude did to them kids at Penn State."

Not sure where Dana White drew the line, but wouldn't it only be fair to let all of them have a second chance, or fire all of them.  I don't see how Torres comment was any worse than the other two.  Possibly a fine-able offense, but not fire-able.  I'm guessing Torres might have even been referring to the Rape Van in the television show Workaholics or something else he saw on tv.  Great show by the way.  I guess I'm just saying he should have a chance to explain his comment before he gets released, then Dana White could let us know how it was so much worse than the other comments.
