Mayweather Vs. Pacquiao Might Happen After All
Flloyd Mayweather Jr. has announced that he will fight again and is eying a May 5, 2012 fight date. Mayweather, who knocked out Victor Ortiz on Sept. 17 does not want to go into retirement again just yet. His promoter said "We're looking to make the biggest fight possible and everyone knows what that fight is, the little fella." Let's all hope he was talking about Manny Pacquiao.
In the past we have heard about this fight going down, and it always collapses due to drug tests. Pacquiao is set to fight Juan Manuel Marquez for the third time Nov. 12 at the MGM Grand in which he is a huge favorite. If things go to plan Pacquiao should roll over Marquez, but if somehow Marquez wins the super fight would lose it's hype. "Floyd made it very clear that he wants to give the fans the biggest
fights that are out there. He wants to stay active," Ellerbe said. "We're going to do everything in our power to make the biggest fight out there for the fans and we all know what the fight is."
This announcement comes only a week after Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum called out Mayweather. Arum claimed Mayweather was scared of Pacquiao's right hand and that the fight would never happen. Both fighter's could make around 50 million each if the fight takes place. Let's hope that they can agree on a fair drug testing policy for both fighters and get this show on the road.
P.S. Pacquiao knocks out Mayweather in the 7th
