Vityaz coach Andrey Nazarov got a little angry with the fans in a game against Belarusian and attacked the fans with a hockey stick. Vityaz is known as one of the tougher teams in the KHL and when they went ahead by a goal in this game Belarusian players and fans were not happy. The players started picking fights on the ice which resulted in fans throwing cigarette lighters and other foreign objects onto the ice and at the Vityaz bench. Nazarov, who was one of the most famous tough-guys in the NHL started swinging a stick at the Belarusian fans. The coach also produced an obscene gesture towards the crowd and received a match penalty, as did two of his players.
Can't say I expect anything less from a Russian hockey game. These fans are hard core about hockey and don't hold back anything. The coach probably should have taken his players off the ice until things settled down, but hey we wouldn't have this video if he did that would we? So I guess I should say thanks to the crazy Russians.
