Strikeforce Diaz vs. Daley

Full List of Fights and Recaps

These are the two highlights from the title fights at Strikeforce Diaz vs. Daley over the weekend.  Nick Diaz KO'd Daley in the first round after a couple good shots from Daley dazed him.  Anyone that watches MMA knows that the Diaz "BROTHERS" are the biggest shit talkers in the sport.  These kids can sure back that shit talking up though.  Nick rattled off his 10th fight in a row and has pretty much ran through all the competition in Strikeforce.  With the recent merger of UFC and Strikeforce there is always the possibility of "Super fight" as people like to call them.  Dana White claims that these fights are never going to happen, because he wants to keep the two promotions separate.  I don't see this statement holding true though.  With George St-Pierre set to face Jake Shields at UFC 129, this could mark the end of all welterweight competition in the UFC for GSP.  If GSP can take down Jake Shields the last thing left for Dana White to do is have a merger fight with GSP and Nick Diaz.

The second highlight is from the lightweight title fight between Gilbert Melendez and Tatsuya Kawajiri (never heard of him.)  Gilbert made quick work of him in the first round via elbow strikes.  This looked like a pathetic fight the whole way through.  Strikefore is already out of decent competition in this division.  I can see a whole card of mega fights (every weight division - Champion vs. Champion) in about a year.  If that goes down you better grab some popcorn and get ready for some of the best fights ever.
