Since the dawn of time, it's been mankind's dream to own the Sports Almanac from Back To The Future Part II.
If one could know the result of a sporting event beforehand, one could
make untold riches by gambling on it. While the Novikov self-consistency
principle — or perhaps Calvinism — means this can't happen, what if you
could wager on an event with a predetermined outcome? Welcome to the world of betting on pro wrestling.
A "soap opera that entertains millions," Linda McMahon said of the WWE. You won't find a place to bet on whether Stefano's evil plan will succeed on Days of Our Lives,

WWE championship against John Cena at WrestleMania. (One early line had
The Miz at +700, so if you believed in him, you made out all right

Bodog.com broke it's tradition last week and had odds on Wrestlemania 27. This marks the first MAJOR betting site to allow betting on something that is pre-determined. I have heard about this on smaller websites, which usually put a cap of around $100 per bet.
The main thing I wonder is how many people do the McMahon's let in on the action. I'm sure the top dogs in WWE know the outcome of the fights, but might only be around 4-5 people and I doubt they need to make any extra cash. Vince is to smart to let the word get out about who is going to win these fights. If people started finding out the outcomes nobody would watch. This is an interesting turn of events, but I am looking forward to seeing if Bodog can keep this up.
P.S. If any of Vince's employees did let the word out about the wins, I'm sure this is what they would get.
