Denver Broncos Fans Take to the Billboards For Tebow

Apparently the Broncos fans have spoken.  Tebow asked the Bronco fans not to go to the billboards asking for him to start, but they did it anyway.  Broncos management has seemed to be against playing Tebow and I doubt this will change their mind right away.  With the Broncos being 1-2 to start the season and not looking like they are going to improve this can only grow.  The pressure to play Tebow will grow week after week.  I am not a huge Tebow guy, but I do respect the fact that the guy wins games.  The games he got into last year he looked alot better than I thought he would.  Apparently he looks like trash in practice but on game day he steps up and makes plays to put a check in the win column.

Braves and Red Sox Collapse

The Braves and the Red Sox finished off some of the most epic collapses in MLB history.  The Braves blew an 8.5 game lead and Red Sox an 9 game lead in the month of September.  The Rays came back against the Yankees from down 7-0 last night to win the game in the twelfth inning to steal the spot from the Red Sox who fell apart against the Orioles in the 9th inning to knock themselves out of a one game playoff.  In the National League the Cardinals crushed the Astros for their playoff spot as they watched the Braves blow a lead only to lose in the 13th inning to the Phillies.  One crazy night of baseball.

Really not sure what to think about this.  Clearly the headbutt was illegal, but was the Mayweather hit even illegal?   It looks like Ortiz is giving him a damn hug and Mayweather just knocks him the hell out after it.  He should have realized that they touch gloves and the game is on after that.

National Enquirer - Publishing sources familiar with the contents of author Joe McGinniss’
highly-anticipated book “The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin”
have revealed shocking secrets that will impact her decision to enter
the 2012 presidential race.

 

In the book, which will be published on September 20^th, McGinniss claims Sarah had a steamy interracial hookup with basketball stud GLEN RICE less than a year before she eloped with her husband Todd.

 

Sarah
hooked up with the NBA great, then a 6-foot-8 junior at the University
of Michigan when he was playing in a college basketball tournament in
Alaska in 1987, the book says. At the time, Sarah, just out of college,
was working as a sports reporter for the Anchorage TV station KTUU.

 

A
publishing source told The ENQUIRER that McGinniss claims Sarah had a
“fetish” for black men at the time and he quotes a friend as saying
Sarah had “hauled (Rice’s) ass down.”

 

A
source unrelated to the book told The ENQUIRER, Todd was very much in
the picture at the time and the couple married just nine months later.

 

My first thought to this was damn this dude is going to make a shit load of money on September 20th.  You gotta think twice about how many of these damn books he will sell and then ask yourself if this dude is legit.  I could see her hooking up with a huge basketball star when she was younger and single, but I still gotta take this story with a grain of salt.  Sarah Palin has the jungle fever?  Perhaps so.  One thing is for sure I gotta be one of those people picking up this book on the 20th.

 

Tom Brady Best Ever?

I'm not sure if that is a serious question yet but Brady is damn near the best I've ever seen.  Brady lit up the Miami defense for four TD's and over 500 passing yards.  The Patriots look like an unstoppable offense and a solid enough defense to take the Super Bowl home this year.  I should have drafted damn near every Patriots player for my fantasy team this year.  I guess since I didn't I'll go ahead a bet on them covering spreads every week and make my money that way.

Cam Newton Starts Career With 422 Passing Yards

I guess all the Cam Newton haters got proved wrong yesterday when the rookie dropped 422 passing yards and three total touchdowns.  The number one overall pick looked well worth the money and possibly some future starts on my fantasy football team considering Matt Ryan pretty much sucks now. The Panthers lost the game but proved that they could be a headache for a lot of teams this season.  Check out some Newton highlights above.

Green Bay Starts 2011 With a W - Back to Back?

The Green Bay offense looked unstoppable last night vs. the Saints.  Aaron Rodgers started off with a standard 30 point fantasy night and Greg Jennings didn't look to bad himself with seven catches and a TD.  The thing that baffles me the most is how slow the Saints started the game and the fact that they took the ball out of their stars hands when the game was on the line.  Instead they decided to give the ball to rookie running back Mark Ingram who got owned on the one yard line.  Anyone ever heard of a bootleg?   Works every time.  All in all it was a good game and I'm glad football is back in full swing.

KHL Hockey Team Plane Crashes, 43 Dead

ESPN -  A Russian jet carrying the KHL ice hockey team Lokomotiv slammed into a
riverbank moments after takeoff Wednesday, killing at least 43 people
and leaving two others critically injured, officials said.



Dallas Stars defenseman Karlis Skrastins, Slovakian national team captain and ex-NHL player Pavol Demitra, Olympic gold medal-winning goaltender Stefan Liv of Sweden and the team's coach, former Detroit Red Wings assistant and NHL player Brad McCrimmon were among those confirmed to have died.




The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry said the Yak-42 plane crashed
in sunny weather immediately after leaving an airport near the city of
Yaroslavl, on the Volga River about 150 miles northeast of Moscow.



This is devastating news to the Hockey world and sports fans in general.  You never want to hear of anyone dieing from something like this that could have been avoided.  It was said that the plane could not reach a safe altitude fast enough and collided into a airport beacon antenna before falling and catching on fire.  Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the lost lives.  We will update any more news that comes out about the crash.

Stephen Strasburg Returns

Stephen Strasburg returned last night and dropped a two hitter through five innings with no earned runs. His fastball was clocking in the upper 90s and his change up was un-touchable. This is not good for me as a Braves fan.  The NL East is already impossible to win with the Phillies, now Stasburg is back to 100%, and Bryce Harper will probably be in the bigs next season.  Mark my words, NL East is the best division in baseball next season by far.  Shit they might be the best this season.

Best Fishing Spot Ever

This looks like a phenomenal place to fish.  I mean damn just cruise down the river drinking some beer and about 60 fish will land in your boat.  I just hope these fish don't have sharp teeth or these kids heads are getting eaten off.

Brock Lesnar to Fight Alistair Overeem in December

 

LA - The LA Times has reported that Brock Lesnar will return to the cage on the December 30th UFC card to fight former Strikeforce champion Alistair Overeem.  Overeem was thought to be out of a Zuffa contract before recently signing back with Zuffa under the UFC.



Overeem is not commonly known by the casual UFC fan, while Brock is still the biggest name in the sport.  Brock carries a lot of criticism with his overall fighting skills and mainly his standup.  This will be a tough fight back from his second surgery to fix his diverticulitis because Overeem is a kick boxing specialist and arguably the biggest opponent of Brock's career.



I am a huge Brock fan and was hoping this was the fight he would get upon his return.  While most people hate on Brock for getting a title shot so quick you can't hate on the man's heart.  He hasn't fought an easy opponent since entering the UFC and doesn't plan on starting now.  His stand up skills are far from top notch, but if he can land a big shot or take Overeem to the mat he can live to see another title shot.  The winner of this fight is said to be first in line for the winner of the Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos title fight taking place in November.  I might have to celebrate the new year in Las Vegas with a Brock Lesnar victory.

Justin Bieber Leaves Steve Nash in the Dust With Crossover

I'm not one to give Bieber much respect because I'm not a twelve year old girl but his basketball skills are pretty fuckin solid.  Bieber gave Steve Nash a little bit of a taste with his crossover and reverse lay-up.  Although it looks like Steve Nash's help defense was about as athletic as tackling dummy.  Dude waved his arms at Bieber like a damn spazz.
