The Unites States has beaten Italy for the first time ever in soccer. Clint Dempsey lead the USA to a 1-0 victory with a goal in the 55th minute. The assist came from Jozy Altidore just inside the penalty area where Dempsey would then score past goal keeper Gianluigi Buffon. The Americans had been 0-7-3 against Italy, getting outscored 32-4.
