Let's start this off with last night's huge reverse dunk by Derek Rose. It seemed as I watched the game last night that Derek was on a different level than anyone else on the court. He had an easy 26 points, and would have had more if the game was close but Chicago pulled out an easy victory over the Knicks. This game might have seemed pointless but if they finish tied with the Spurs (which they are now) there will be a coin flip to see who gets home court advantage in the Finals if they both make it there. Now on to the predictions.
NBA MVP: Derek Rose.....if you already didn't know my selection.
Eastern Conference Finals: Chicago over Miami in 6 games. This might seem stupid not going seven games but I think the depth and interior game of Chicago will kill Miami. Miami has no answer for Boozer and Noah on the inside, and absolutely nobody that can guard D. Rose. They threw Lebron at him before but King James is to tall and slow for Rose, sorry Lebron. They also lose a tall power forward to help out inside whenever they stick Lebron on D. Rose. Last but not least Chicago has stifling defense that is going to pretty much shut down everyone on the team with the exception of Duane Wayde and Lebron.
(I have Dallas dropping below OKC in the rankings after tonight's games)
Western Conference Finals: San Antonio over OKC in 7. I think after the addition of Kendrick Perkins on the inside and Andruw Bynum hyper extending his knee last night, OKC can get past the Lakers this year. With that said I don't think they can get past the Spurs. The Spurs are top experienced, and with the addition of Richard Jefferson and DeJuan Blair inside I think they will be to much for the Thunder. Although I do like this series going 7 games and that does give the Thunder a shot at a huge upset. The Thunder can outscore anyone, but my main question is the defense in this series.
NBA Finals: Chicago over San Antonio in 7 games. I can honestly say this could be one of the best NBA Finals in 10 years. I watched more basketball this year than I have since Michael Jordan's glory days. These are by far the two best teams in the NBA. San Antonia presents two tough guards that can somewhat slow down Derek Rose, and Tim Duncan who plays great on both ends of the court to give the Chicago big men some problems. On the other hand I like Chicago's team defense and team speed against the Spurs. I think the Duke boys are going to be the key to success for Chicago. Luol Deng and Carlos Boozer will outmatch anyone on the Spurs that try and guard them. THE BULLS ARE FINALLY BACK
